Explanation:

One of my friends called me today and he was almost shouting with the harshest tone and abusing the government and the leaders. He was extremely angry over the decision of extending the lockdown for the fourth time. We may go soon for the fifth version of lockdown after listening to him for quite a while, I found that he was upset over the uncertainties and has a fear for his life on one hand while on the other, he was feeling bad for his freedom over social isolation, especially in absence of his office colleagues and friends.

I decided to answer all his questions one by one with all possible logical clarifications to douse down his anger towards one and all. He made a statement that he has been in lock up as if he has committed a crime, I quietly clarified that lock up and lockdown are two different things. Lock up are normally in police stations where offenders and criminal are kept, locked from outside, kept away from family and friends in isolation and their basic needs are taken care by someone else, mostly by the police whereas, in lockdown, one must physically distance himself away from others apart from living with his or her family, safe at home by spending time with the family members and experiencing the pleasures of life.

The second question posed by him was on the uncertainty about life, unfounded fear of death, and anxieties about the future. After a little effort in a counselling tone, I convinced him that the present situation has not been created by me, you or anyone else, it is not in our control and we should not feel guilty towards things which are not in our control. We must thank all those who are keeping us safe and should use this time more constructively in exploring things such as, our relationship with our family members, to understand our follies, rectify mistakes, and unlearn and relearn new positive understanding towards our life, our people, and our society, especially in terms of our responsibilities.
