Answer:

Parallel lines are lines that are always the same distance apart. Because they are always the same distance from one another, parallel lines will never intersect. You can find parallel lines in many places including the sides of geometric shapes, like squares and rectangles, and railroad tracks in your neighborhood.

When two lines having equal distance throughout their length are called to parallel lines.

If we use advanced words the definition of parallel lines :

  • When two lines having an exact angle of 180° between them ; they are called parallel lines as they don't have any chance to meet .

Eg :

  1. Let us consider two lines : l and m
  2. Let the angle between them exactly 180° .
  3. Extend the lines till highest and longest possible length.
  4. Check if they meet any where.

We can conclude that these lines meet no where. So we can call them parallel lines.

So this can be written as l ll m

Examples in daily life :

  • Railway tracks

  • Sides of square and rectangles.

  • Roads
