Diffusion is the movement of a fluid from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. Diffusion is a result of the kinetic properties of particles of matter. The particles will mix until they are evenly distributed.

The movement of materials from an high pressure area to a low pressure area is known as diffusion. Diffusion can occur in gases and liquids. In liquids, if it happens through a semi-permeable membrane, it is called osmosis.
Example, If there is CO2 filled in a room, and if you open that room, the air from outside and CO2 will diffuse with each other.
