Demerits of Mendeleev's periodic table:
1)The whole number atomic masses of Cobalt and Nickel are same.Thus,there was ambiguity about there sequence in Mendeleev's periodic table.

2)Isotopes were discovered long time after Mendeleev put forth periodic table.As Isotopes have similar chemical properties but different atomic masses,the challenge was posed for their place in Mendeleev's periodic table.

3) Mendeleev arranged the elements in an increasing order of their atomic masses.However,rising in atomic numbers is not uniform.So,it was not possible ,to predict how many could be discovered between the two heavy elements.

4)An element,hydrogen, resembles the properties of both halogens and alkali metals.Thus,it's place wasn't decided very correctly in the Mendeleev's periodic table.
