The main difference between mammals and reptiles is the way they regulate body heat. Mammals can produce body heat while reptiles need external heat source such as the sun. That is why most reptiles will bask in the sun to get warm. Mammals give birth to live young while reptiles lay eggs.

1. Their skin is dry, no glands are present but horns epidermal scales are present all over the body.

2. Reptiles has three chambered heart -- 1 Auricles and 1 Ventricle.

3. They need external heat, as they cannot produce internal heart.

4. Reptiles lay eggs.

5. Examples are : Hemidactylus, Draco and Naja naja.

Mammalia :

1. Their body is covered with hairs and sweat glands are present.

2. Mammalia has four - chambered heart.

3. They are capable in producing internal heat.

4. Mammalia give birth to young ones ( viviparous ).

5. Examples are : Felis domestica, Macaca and Macropus.
