Difference between Orbital and Orbit.

Orbit

¤ It is Well defined Circular path followed by Electron to Revolve around the Nucleus.

¤ The Maximum Number of an electron in an orbit is 2n². Where "n" stands for number of orbits or we can say shells!

¤ Orbit Cannot explain the shape of a molecule.

¤ orbits are circular in Shape.

Orbitals

¤ It is the region in space where the Possibility of finding an Electron is maximum.

¤ An Orbital Can Accumulate Only 2 electron.

¤ orbitals can predict the shape of a Molecule.

¤ orbitals have different shapes.
