Hey!
____________________________
• On basis of size-
Solution- Particles of a true solution are smaller than 1nm.
Suspension- Size of the solute particles are more than 100 nm
Colloids- Size of the particles are between 1nm and 100nm
• On basis of Tyndall effect-
Solution- Particles of a true solution are so small that they do not scatter beam of light through it. Therefore, the path of light is not visible in true solutions.
Suspension- They can scatter the beam of light falls on them as they are big enough to do that.
Colloids- Particles are big enough to scatter beam of light which becomes visible when it passes through it.
• On basis of stability-
Solutions- They are stable.
Suspensions- Mixture is un-stable. When it is left un-disturbed for sometime. The solute particles settle down under gravity
Colloids- They are quite stable but sometimes they can settle down when kept un-disturbed for long.
