1. eletrovalents compounds or ionic compounds are formed by the transfer of electrons whereas the covalent compounds are formed by the mutual sharing of one or more pairs of electrons .
2.ionic compounds dissociate in water because they have ions in them whereas covalent compounds cannot dissociate because they have molecules.
3.a strong force is needed to break the eletrovalent compounds due to strong of Force of interaction between their charges whereas their is no such high amout of energy is required to break the covalent compounds as they have weak forces of interaction.
4.ionic compounds are soluble in water whereas covalent compounds are insoluble but they are soluble is organic solvents for eg : benzene, alcohol etc..
hope these differences will help u ..if they then pls tell me and follow me..
