The dispersed phase is also called the internal discontinuous phase, it is consists of very fine particles or finally divided droplets or bubbles of one substance which distributed to another substance is called dispersed phase.

And three phases solid liquid or gases in one system but consists of two phases the particles are distributed in each system is called dispersed medium.

So when we discuss the hair cream colloidal solution here the spray like medium abtained as two phases in one system but both phase are consists as liquid phase and this will combine to form emulsion and where the hair cream colloidal solution are form it is an emulsion type. (very very fine particles as microscopic)

The phase which is scattered in the form of colloidal particles are called dispersion phase whereas dispersion medium is the medium in which colloidal particles are dispersed.

Mainly there are three phases: liquid, solid and gaseous.

If you have to find out dispersed phase and dispersion medium of hair cream a colloidal solution, it would be liquid phase and solid medium.

colloidal solution generally consists atleast two phases: dispersed phase and the dispersion medium and the solution is heterogeneous in nature. It is a substance that present in small quantity and in colloids size (1 to 100 nm).
