According to the United Nations Charter, the UN objectives are: (1) To maintain international peace and security. (2) To develop friendly relations among nations on the basis of equality and the principle of self-determination.

1) The first and for most aim of this international orgainsation is to maintain peace and security. The formulators of this article very intelligently also incorporates the extend of power and liberty provided of this organization. It’s been said in there that the UNO can take effective collective measure to ensure peace and security, to refrain and suppress violence, in case of breach of peace.
2) This has to be understood that the basic purpose behind this organization is unity among the member who are essentially the 192 countries and these directly lead to unification of the entire world with 192 nations. Hence it is very important that UNO in itself and also between its members maintain friendly relation, endow them with equal rights and self determination to ensure and strengthen universal peace.
3) As this organization was formed to solve the international problems which can be dealt with individual countries domestically, international cooperation is mandatory. Promotion of human rights and fundamental freedom for every human being without any distinction based on race, sec, language, or religion are few issue which has specially mentioned in the charter and solution to all these international economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian problem are seen as the major objective of UNO.
4) The final objective which the UN charter deals with is – “to be center for harmonizing the actions of nations in the attainment of these common ends.”
