This is ur answer::

My mother had a bad childhood.

My grandfather was a disciplinarian. He was strict. He was loud. He was ruthless. And yet he was a well known, respectable man.

He would run a tuition centre for children back in the 60s and 70s. All the parents who thought their kids wouldn't study or who thought their child was a nuisance were sent here to study. My grandfather would resort to all kinds of punishment to make a child study, from making them stand outside in the sun to hitting them with a long stick.

“And their parents didn't tell him anything?” I had asked sitting all of 12 years old wide eyed in front of her as she narrated her ordeal.

“No. Those days it was okay to hit a child and punish them especially if the child was mischievous and a nuisance. Parents would come in abundance to get their child admitted in the classes.” My mother told me.
