2. In 1999, Santosh Yadav led an Indian mountaineering expedition to Kangshung Face, Everest.[5]

In 2001, she led mountaineering team to East Face, Mount Everest.

Santosh had thequalities of physical strength, mental strength and strong will power. In 1992, four years after her first casual climb on the Aravalli hills, she climbed Mount Everest.

4. Had she not been a mountaineer, Padmashri award winner Santosh Yadav (48) would have been an environmentalist. She was the first woman to climb the 29,035 feet high Mount Everest twice, in 1992 and 1993, and the first woman to climb it from its Kangshung face.
