Characteristics
- they are bilaterally symmetrical
- they show organ level of body organisation
- they don't possess a body cavity i.e.they are acoelomates
- they are triploblastic in nature i.e.they have 3 germ layers.
- fertilisation is internal and development includes many larval stages
eg: planaria,taenia and fasciola
Extra information:
- they are also called as flat worms as they are Dorso-ventrally flattened.
- most of them are parasitic.
- have specialised cells called as flame cells which help in exertion and osmoregulation of the body
