Electrodes :

• Anode : metal to be deposited
• Cathode : object to be coated
• Electrolyte : Copper sulphate

For example : we need to deposit a layer of Copper  on Iron article in order to prevent rusting .

So, when current is passed cooper sulphate gets break to form ions :

CuSO₄---> Cu²⁺  + SO₄²⁻

Reaction at anode

Cu-2e---> Cu²⁺

Reaction at cathode

Cu²⁺  + 2e ----> Cu
