The Revolt of 1857 was one of the battle for independence of India, it is important for Indian history in many ways. By this struggle, It was a end of the medieval period and the beginning of a new era in nation, which is called the modern period.

The war of 1857 was a mass war. In that mass war, Hindus and Muslims, men and women of India fought against the British colonial rule. It included people of all castes, professions and status.

This thing comes through various forms of folk songs, songs and literature related to that war. This public war also proves that people of every class and status have the right to be patriots and freedom.

So, the Revolt of 1857 was an significant event in Indian history. Although, it was started by the revolt of the soldiers, but it was a mixed expression of the problems of those who were dissatisfied with the administration of the company and who disliked the foreign colonial rule.
