The β decay equation of ²³Ne₁₀ is given by :

        -β          

²³Ne₁₀------------> ²³Na₁₁ + ⁰e₋₁ + v +Q

Mass defect can be given as :

Δm=m(²³Ne₁₀)- m(²³Na₁₁)

=22.994466-22.989770

=0.004696u

Q=Δmx931

=0.004696x931=4.372 Mev

The maximum kinetic energy of electron of emitted β particle is equal to Q value

=Ee=Q= 4.37 Mev
