Plasma membrane
it is made up of protein and carbs,it is lippoprotenious. it allows some specifis things to pass through it so it called selectively permeable membrane and it protect cell is act as barrior
Cell wall
it is made up of cellulose it is a dense struture which doesn't allow anything to pass through it and it protects cell from harm amd injury

a) Plasma Membrane
Functions:
It separates the contents of the cell from its outside environment and it regulates what enters and exits the cell.

Plasma membrane plays a vital role in protecting the integrity of the interior of the cell by allowing only selected substances into the cell and keeping other substances out.

It also serves as a base of attachment for the cytoskeleton in some organisms and the cell wall in others. Thus the cell membrane supports the cell and helps in maintaining the shape of the cell.

The cell membrane is primarily composed of proteins and lipids. While lipids help to give membranes their flexibility and proteins monitor and maintain the cell's chemical climate and assist in the transfer of molecules across the membrane.

The lipid bilayer is semi-permeable, which allows only selected molecules to diffuse across the membrane

Composition :
The membrane is mainly composed of lipids, proteins and carbohydrates. Water makes about 29% of total weight. Robertson (1959) proposed that plasma membrane is three-layered structure where proteins form the outer and inner layers of membrane that encloses lipids to form a unit membrane.

B) Cell Wall
Functions :
The cell wall gives the plant its actual shape. It acts as a gatekeeper, because it determines what can come in and out of the cell in order to keep the cell protected. It is kind of like the outside bricks of a castle, only, as you will learn as you read on, there are holes throughout this castle. Those holes do make the cell vulnerable, but they are important to the function of the cell.

Composition:
Cell walls are made of peptidoglycan (also called murein), which is made from polysaccharide chains cross-linked by unusual peptides containing D-amino acids. Bacterial cell walls are different from the cell walls of plants and fungi which are made of cellulose and chitin, respectively.
