Write down the magnitude and direction of net force in following case: in tug war team A is applying a force 100 N along the east direction and team B is applying force of 200 N along the west direction.

"The net force is 100N and direction is towards team B along the west direction.

Since the force is working in the opposite direction.

Hence, the net force will be cancelled by each other.

Net force = 200N – 100N = 100N

Since the force applied in the West direction is more hence the net force will move in the west direction.

Balanced forces are forces where the effect of one force is cancelled out by another. A tug of war, where each team is pulling equally on the rope, is an example of balanced forces. The rope will have an acceleration of zero under the action of these balanced forces.
