Physical properties-

• Pale yellow in colour (gaseous state).
• It is dark blue in colour (liquid state).
• It is violet black in colour (solid state).
• Odour- It has characteristic smell.
• Taste- It is a tasteless gas.
• Oxidising action- It has oxidising action and used as disinfectants, water treating agent , insecticides.
• Stability- It is thermodynamically nor stable and decompos hence, it is stored surrounded by liquid oxygen.
