Reproduction is the ability of an organism to produce living offspring. The offspring may be created as a result of sexual reproduction, with two sets of parental genes coming together to make the juvenile form of their species (like human babies, kittens, or puppies, for example).

Some organisms, including many sea creatures and plants, reproduce via asexual reproduction. Only one parent is involved in asexual reproduction, and as a result of the lack of genetic diversity in a single parent's genes, the offspring usually look a lot more like the parent than offspring that are produced sexually.

Rocks, tables, televisions, and computers are not capable of reproducing, either sexually or asexually, and as a result are officially not living things (although you hopefully knew that already).

Once an organism reproduces, its offspring begin to grow and develop. Growth can take on several definitions in the living world.

In some cases, they organism will only grow larger, as is the case with many plants. In the case of many animals and humans, that growth includes both growing larger and developing and maturing in a reproductive sense.

This means that for some species, they are not immediately able to reproduce upon birth - they must first reach what is considered to be sexual maturity.

This is the point during the lifecycle when an organism is capable of producing offspring. Depending on the species, that could be anywhere from a few months to a few years or more, as is the case with humans.

Rocks may change as a part of the rock cycle, but they do not grow like living things do. Neither do tables, televisions, or computers for that matter.
