How to Find and Replace Text and Other Objects in Document with Writer 2013

Kingsoft Writer allows you to find and replace text, formatting, paragraph breaks, page breaks, and other items. You can also use wildcards to find special letters. In this guide, we will show you how to find text and replace text in your text document.

Find text

To find a word or phrase in your document, you need to do the following:

Step 1 Click the arrow on the Find and Replace icon find and replace in the Home tab, then select Find option in the drop-down list and open the Find and Replace dialog box. Or, you can simply press Ctrl+F.

Step 2 Under Find tab, enter the text you want to find in the Find what text box.

Step 3 Select the Find Next button to start the search, if the search option is not in the text, there will be a dialog box alerting you that Kingsoft Writer has finished searching the document.

Step 4 To search for the next result matching your search option, click Find Next again.

Step 5 Click Close to return to the document.

Find and replace text

To find and replace a word or phrase in your document you need to:

Step 1 Press Ctrl+H to bring up the Replace dialog.

Step 2 In the Find what box, type the text that you want to search for and replace.

Step 3 In the Replace with box, type the replacement text.

Tip: If you do not enter any characters in the Replace with text box, the program will delete all results matching the search criteria.

Step 4 Click the Find Next button to start the search. When a match is found it will return to the document to display the text. You can then do one of the following:

a. To search for the next text match, click Find Next

b. To replace the text with what you have entered in the Replace with text box, simply click Replace button.

c. To replace all of your search results in one move with the same replacement, click Replace All button.

Step 5 Click the OK button to return to the Find and Replace dialog box, then click the Close button to return to the document. When you find the results of incorrect replacement, you can click on the Undo buttonundo replacing text in the Quick Access toolbar to undo the replace operation.
