Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene that has numerous applications. The best-known brand name of PTFE-based formulas is Teflon by Chemours.[2] Chemours is a spin-off of DuPont, which originally discovered the compound in 1938.[2] Another popular brand name of PTFE is Syncolon® by Synco Chemical Corporation.[3Poly(tetrafluoroethylene)[1]

Properties of Polystyrene

1) It is linear polymer and transparent in nature.

2) it is resistant to alkali and halogen acids.

3) It is also soluble in solvents.

Properties of Neoprene

1) it resembles to natural rubber but it is superior to the natural rubber.

2) It does not require sulphur during its vulcanization.

3) ZnO + MnO is added for its cross linking of polymer.

Properties of Teflon

1) it is highly crystalline linear polymer with high melting point.

2) it is not a true thermoplastic because although its softening point is high but it starts decomposing at its softening point.

3) it resistance to heat at chemicals and also insoluble in most of the solvents.

Uses Of Polystyrene :

It is used for making hot drink cups, bottles caps, toilet articles, combs e,t,c

Uses Of Neoprene :

It is used in making gloves, shoe soles etc.

Use of Teflon:

It us used in non stick kitchen utensils and in electric iron.
