Hello mate !! Here is ur answer :)
a) atomic size : It refers to the radius of am element .
The atomic size increases as we go from up to down in a group as number of shells increases .
But the atomic size decreases as we go from left to right in a period as because the nuclear charge increases which tends to hold the electrons closer to the nucleus .
B) Valency : It refers to the combining capacity of an element .
If valence electron is 1 to 4 then valence electron is equal to its valency but in case if it is more than 4 , then we need to subtract valence section from its octet .
In a period first the valency of an element increases then decreases .
In case of group , The valency of an element remains constant ( same )
c)Metallic character : It refers to the electropositive character of an element ti loose an electron easily .
In a period as we go from left to right the metallic or electropositive character decreases due to increase in nuclear charge .
In case of group the metallic character increases as we go from up to down due to the increase in the number of shells , electrostatic force decreases so valence electron can be easily lost .
Hope it helps u mate!!!!
