Features of Angiosperms :

  • Angiosperms are vascular plants with stems, roots, and leaves.
  • Roots may be normal with tap roots or adventitious.
  • Stems may be branched or unbranched.
  • The pollen grains and ovules are developed in specialised structures called Flowers.
  • Angiosperms are divided into two classes - Dicotyledons and monocotyledons.
  • Dicots are characterized by having two cotyledons while monocots have a single cotyledon in their seeds.
  • Male sex organ in a flower is Stamen and female sex organ is the Pistil.
  • Each stamen consist of an anther, connective and a filament.
  • Anther after meiosis produces pollen grains.
  • Pistil consists of stigma, style and ovary.
  • Ovary encloses the ovule which contains female gametophyte termed embryo sacs.
