Fishes and other animals living in water are called aquatic animals.Their respiratory organ are gills they obtain oxygen from the dissolved oxygen when it passes over the gills .
Gills are projections of skin. These are formed of large number of gills filaments with a network of fine blood capillaries.
The oxygen dissolved in water enters in blood capillaries ,carbon dioxide present in capillary blood is released into water. So in this way the gaseous and the life's main work takes place.
