The term wind energy refers to the kinetic energy created by the wind in order to produce wind power. Wind energy can be converted by a wind turbine that does just that. However, if the wind energy is harnessed to create mechanical energy the tool for that still may be called a wind turbine or a wind power plant.

Five examples from our daily life which are influenced by wind are as follows -

• The tides :

The tides of the environmental water bodies are constantly generated due to the wind flow above the water body which includes kinetic energy in the water flow.

• Wind turbine generator :

We can produce electricity from the wind turbines by using the flow of environmental wind. Here,the whole process is influenced by the wind flow.

• The cloud movement :

The cloud moves along with the movement of the wind. And the movement of cloud is an important feature of our weather. So our weather is widely affected by the wind flow.

• Flight of aircrafts :

Although the modern aircrafts are efficient enough to deny the existence of air caused influences but still strong flow of environmental air can slightly influence the flight of these aircrafts.

• Badminton :

The shuttlecock's travel in the middle of the air is totally influenced by the flow of the wind in that environment.
