Hi,

To solve the given problems we use

brackets.

1) 7 ( 8 - 3 ) = 7 × ( 8 ) + 7 × ( -3 )

= 56 - 21

= 35

2) ( 7 + 2 ) ( 10 - 3 )

= 7 ( 10 - 3 ) + 2 ( 10 - 3 )

Using distributive property

= 7 × ( 7 ) + 2 × ( 7 )

= 49 + 14

= 63

I hope this will useful to you.

(a) 7(8-3)

solution-

7(8-3)
[ when we will open bracket 8 and 3 will be multiplied by 7]

= (7×8) - ( 7×3)

= 56 - 21

= 35

Direct Method , solve the bracket first -

7(8-3)
= 7×5
= 35

(b) (7+2)(10-3)

solution-

(7+2)(10-3)
[we will open one of the brackets]

7(10-3) + 2(10-3)

= {(7×10) - (7×3)} + {(2×10 - 2×3)}

= {70-21} + {20-6}

= 49 + 14

= 63

Direct Method , solve the brackets -

(7+2) (10-3)
= 9 × 7
= 63
