1.it provide the support framework of the body which gives shape and form of the body.
2.it provides mechanical protection to internal delicate organs like brain (skull), internal ear(auditory capsule) , heart, lungs(ribs).
3.it provides surface for the attachment of tendons of various skeletal muscles and ligmants. it act as a system of levers and pivots for movement of body parts.
4. bones act as reservoir of minerals like calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium salts.
