here are many differences between respiration and photosynthesis. The principal difference, however, between photosynthesis and respiration is that photosynthesis utilizes carbon dioxide and water in the presence of light to produce glucose and oxygen, whereas respiration uses oxygen and glucose to power the activities of the cell. Respiration then releases carbon dioxide and water as a byproduct.

A few differences between Photosynthesis and Respiration are:

• Photosynthesis is the process of making food and Respiration is the process of getting the energy from food through oxidation.

• Both Photosynthesis and Respiration can be performed by plants but animals only perform Respiration.

• Photosynthesis cannot take place without sunlight whereas Respiration can take place, with and without sunlight.

• Photosynthesis uses carbon dioxide to take place whereas Respiration uses oxygen to take place.
