permanent tissues are compsed of cells that have lost the power of division,having attained their definite form & size.The cells forming the permanent tisseus have the following characteristics
1)cells are variable in size and have thin or thick walls.
2)the cytoplasm is very scanty. The nucleus if present is small on size.
3)cells are not capavle of cell division.
permanent tissue can be furthur divided into two categories.
1 simple tissue
2 parenchyma
