Infact Makar Sankranti is the very first festival in the New Year. The Delhites celebrate it by having churma of ghee, halwa and kheer. The Punjabis go for early river bath and also light lamps with seasame oil. The Rajasthanis is celebrated by preparing delicious sweets such as puwa, Til-Patti, til-laddoo etc.
