Answer:

Childhood Days Of APJ Abdul Kalam

On 15 October 1931, he was born in Rameswaram to a Muslim family as Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. By the 1920s, the family had lost most of its fortunes and was impoverished when Kalam was born. He had to sell newspapers to supplement his family's meagre income as a child. In one of his books written decades later, Kalam fondly remembered his mother lovingly feeding her quota of food to the children while going hungry herself.

He was a good student who was always curious about how things worked. Siva Subramania Iyer, one of his teachers, took the students to the seashore when he was ten years old and asked them to observe the birds in flight. The teacher then gave the children a theoretical explanation, which profoundly affected young Kalam's mind when combined with the live practical example. The boy realised that his life's calling had something to do with the flight that very day.
