The Chinese were the first to invent the technique of making Silk almost 7000 years ago. They used to go distant parts of the world on foot, horseback or on Camels taking the land route carrying Silk with them.They carried their silk up to West Asia and the Roman empire. It was this path or route which the Chinese followed, which came to be known as Silk route.
