◆ Occurrence of coal in India -

• India is on 5th position for coal reserves in the world.
• In India, coal reserves are abundant in states of Zarkhand, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Telangana & Maharashtra.
• Out of these about 30% reserves are accumulated in Jharkhand only.
• Jhariya coal mine is the biggest coal mine in India.
