Sind and Multan (regions along the Indus River and now in Pakistan) were first conquered by Imad ad Din Muhammad Qassim Taqafi. These conquests first began in 695 AD. It enabled the Muslims to further their conquests, on the India sub-continent.

It is recorded that the Raja of Sindh - Rajah Dahir, attacked Arab ships and imprisoned Muslim men and women, which provoked the attack from Qassim Taqafi. Qassim Taqafi had also tried unsuccessfully to gain control of Sind, earlier.

The Village electrification mission and the Gramin drinking water mission were two of the most popular schemes undertaken by the UPA government.

At the same time, these two schemes were also important for getting popular votes from the people.

There were arrangements that all the villages should be fed with drinking water, and there should also be proper electric lines in all the villages.
