"Private Animal Shelter on the edge of being shut down !"

The Sunehra Ghar, a private animal shelter is in the danger of being shut down due to the lack of funds. When we interviewed the owner, Mr. Sahoo, an animal lover, who is currently an employee in a private company, he said that, "Many people here don't believe in donating for the poor stray, abandoned, lost, and surrendered animals. They just come here to see the animals, spend some time with them, and then leave. " According to your reports, Sunehra Ghar is an old private animal shelter which was made in the early 1990s, and it was decided by the people of the society that every family would donate at least Rs. 500 for the funds. Since then, it was observed that the private animal shelter faced much lack of funds, as the people, after the opening ceremony, weren't interested in donating much to the funds.

"People often donate just Rs. 100 or even lesser. When we ask them to donate a little more, they refuse to do so. This forced us to put a board outside the shop, declaring a minimum donation amount of Rs. 200.", the owner explains. Before it was seen that many people visited the shop, but now, rarely a person is seen around the shop.

The Sunehra Ghar has a very little variety of animals. Although, the number of each variety is quiet large. Mr. Sahoo says, "The shop was opened on the demand of the society and now, no one is interested in donating. Soon, we'll be selling this shop to the government." After much pain and difficulties, the owner finally decided to sell the shop.
