Hey!!!

The three parallel ranges of Himalayas are:

• Great Himalayas or Inner Himalayas or the Himadri.
• Lesser Himalayas or Himachal.
• Shiwaliks.

Great Himalaya is a continuous range and it consists of the loftiest peaks. The peaks have an average height of 6000m. Most of the high peaks are present in this range only. Its folds are assymetric and is composed of granite.
Lesser Himalayas lies to the south of the Great Himalayas. It forms the most rugged mountains and its altitude varies between 3700m and 4500m. This range consists of famous valleys like the Kangra Valley, Kullu Valley and the Kashmir Valley.
Shiwaliks is the outermost range of Himalayas. It has an extend of almost 10 to 50 km. Its altitude varies from 900m to 1100m. This range consists of sediments and its valleys are covered with gravel and alluvium. It has many dunes such as the Dehra Dun, the Kotli Dun and the Patli Dun.
