MUSCLES

Muscles tissue are those types of tissue which are present throughout the body and they bring locomotion and maintain the posture of our body. Due to the contraction and relaxation movement is possible of our body.

There are three types of muscles in our body :-

• Striated muscles :- These types of  muscles are long and unbranched. Their cells contains multi-nucleus.They have a thin and distinct plasma membrane.These muscles tissue contract very rapidly and need relax after some time of work. These muscles are connected to bone and also known as skeletal muscles. They are also responsible for the voluntary action like movement of hand or leg etc.

• Smooth muscles :- These are elongated and spindle-shaped cells and they are held together by loose connective tissue. Each muscle cell of this type has well-developed plasma membrane.They have one nucleus in cell. They are responsible for involuntary actions such as digestion, respiration etc.

• Cardiac muscles :-These muslces are present in the walls of heart. These cells are cylindrical and have only one nucleus. These can also develop cross-sections through lateral outgrowths. It is useful for contraction and relaxation of heart muscles.
