Following various complaints received from the general public on the danger posed by catapults, the State Government has issued a notification banning the use of catapults.

The catapult was used in olden days for hunting birds and animals for food. Today it has become a plaything especially among young boys. However, it is noticed that this traditional weapon of hunting is being used irresponsibly by the youth. There are reports of the pellets used in catapults causing damages to properties like window glass panes, street lights, solar panels and also injuries to people. Therefore, the ban on catapults by the Government is timely and welcomed.
