In greek, echinos means hedgehog and derma means skin. Thus these are spiny skinned organisms. These r exclusively free living marine animals. they r tribloblastic and hace a coelmic cavity. hav peculiar water driven system that they use for moving around

The Chordata is the animal phylum with which everyone is most intimately familiar, since it includes humans and other vertebrates. However, not all chordates are vertebrates.chordates possess a notochord, a hollow dorsal nerve cord, pharyngeal slits, an endostyle, and a post-anal tail, for at least some period of their life cycle
