clay has super fine particles that cling togeyher and prohibit water and nutrient movement, while sand has course particles which allow water and nutrients to leach too rapidly.

The difference between sand clay and silt are
clay usually consists of particles less the 0.075 mm in size.
silt has large particles then clay and manily inorganic in mature
