●The air passing through nostrills are filtered by fine hairs that line the nasal cavity.Thus prevents entering of dust particles into lungs during inhalation.

●Nasal cavity is also lined with mucus which also helps filtring air entering nostrils by preventing microbes and dust.

●Nasal cavity warm up the air taken in upto the body temperature
