Otto Frank was a kind, smart, gentle and thoughtful man. He was generous and level headed too. Mr Frank always tried to save the best food for the children and took the smallest portion for himself. When he saw that the Jews were being killed by the Nazis, he moved his family to Holland in 1933. When the Nazis invaded even Holland, he moved his family into hiding. Hev was much loved and respected by his Dutch business colleagues. They helped him prepare the annex and kept it supplied with food even at the risk of their own safety. Mr Frank readily accepted the van Daans and Dussel into the small annex. He was a truly wise man and a loving father. He was the only member of the annex to survive the war.
