Biswabhushan Harichandan was named the new governor of Andhra Pradesh by the union government. E.S.L. Narasimhan, who worked as governor for a combined Andhra Pradesh, continued to serve as governor for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after the two-furcation state.
Harichandan Biswabhushan is a former Odisha BJP member. Born on 3 August 1934, he elected five times as MLA. Bharatiya Jana Sangh launched his political career in 1971. He served in Jana Sangh as a national executive member and general secretary of state, before Janata Party was formed in 1977.
He was being arrested during the emergency time under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA). He earned LLB and practiced as a solicitor. Upon his establishment, he entered the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and served as president of the state from 1980 to 1988.
