Road Safety Seminar Awareness Seminar Held at Greenvalley Global School
Traffic awareness seminar was held at Greenvalley Global School, Jaipur on September 15, 2018 by representatives from Traffic Police, Delhi. Mr. Kulwant Singh Malhi, in charge Traffic Police Delhi, Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Head Constable, and Mr. Deepak Thakur, constable from Education Cell Traffic Police, Delhi gave informative lectures to the students from 10, +1, and +2 classes.
They informed the students that owning to the violation of traffic rules on roads by underage driving roads have become very unsafe, especially for school children. They presented shocking statistics connected with road rage. According to Road Accident Statistics India 1214 road crashes occur every day in India. 20 children under the age of 14 die every day due to road crashes in the country. One serious road accident in the country occurs every minute and 16 people die on Indian roads every hour.
They made students aware of the newly passed Road Safety Juvenile Driving Laws. According to the recently implemented Road Safety Bill 2016 the guardian /owner shall be deemed to be guilty in cases of offences by the juveniles and juvenile shall be tried under JJ act. The representatives from the Traffic Police Ludhiana appealed to the students to follow traffic rules to maintain safety for one and all.
DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL- THE ROAD SAFETY WEEK 2018
In India over one lakh persons lose their lives every year in road accidents, causing loss of human lives and property and trauma to the family of the deceased.
Thus, to make people aware, 'Road Safety Week' is observed throughout the country every year in the month of January in order to highlight and emphasize the need for safe roads.
The road Safety Week was observed in our school from 20th to 27th January, 2018.
Posters highlighting the observance of traffic rules were displayed at strategic points to draw the attention of the students towards ‘Road Safety’.
Mr. Ram Mohan had organized drawing and painting competitions for the boys of classes 3 and 4 to spread awareness.
The teachers of classes 5 to 9 organised an essay writing on the topic of ‘Road Safety’.
Some activities and program were culminated at the morning assembly on 25th January, 2018 where the boys of R.S.P. led by Mr. Sahoo helped to create awareness about road safety through a PowerPoint and skit.
The students were also encouraged to reflect on how they would help in future to ensure road safety for all.
