Abhinav Bharat is a right wing Hinduorganization[1][2] founded by Retired Major of Indian Army Ramesh Upadhyay[3][4] and Lt. Col. Prasad Shrikant Purohit[5] in 2006 in Pune, Maharashtra. It has a large base in Madhya Pradesh. The organization is believed to be the revived form the pre-Independence era Abhinav Bharat Society.[6][7][8] The activities of the organisations came into sharp focus after Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested its member for Malegaon blast case.[9] It has no relationship to the Mumbai-based charitable trust of the same name.[10]

Abhinav Bharat Society was a secret society which was formed in Maharashtra and was named Mitra mela. It was an organization which was formed to overthrow the despotic British rule through the use arms and ammunition.
This militant organization believed a lot on killing the despotic British officers. The investigation of Jackson’s death revealed the functioning of Abhinav Society.
Abhinav society functioned clandestinely and was involved in slaying the authoritative British officials. Its ideology was based on killing the authoritative officials because they were not convinced with the radical policies of the extremist leaders too.
