● The anti corruption movement in India was started on 4th April 2011.

● This was a non violent protest against political corruption which has become an endemic in India.

● The main motto of this movement was to establish a strong legislation against corruption and its enforcement.

● This protest also fought for the approval of Jan Lokpal Bill for ombudsman.

  • The program developed by the 'United Nations' has created a joint international campaign called 'your NO counts' to Mark as an international anti-corruption day (9th December) & to bring more awareness in how to raise the voice against corruption.
  • When it comes to India, on the day of 5th April 2011, 'at Jantar Mantar', Delhi, the most important thing for the fight against corruption needed gained momentum.
  • The 'anti-corruption activist' 'Anna Hazare' started a hunger strike and the main aim of this whole movement was to end the corruption in the Indian government by applying Jan Lokpal Bill.
