When colonial government started to reserve forest and ban shifting cultivation in bastar and forced people to leave the forest then people started revolt against colonial government. Gunda dhur a people from nethaner village from kangra forest was the leader of bastar revolution some people with gunda dhur looted the British arm burning their houses offices at jabalpur.

The people of Bastar rebelled with Gunda Dhur as the leader.. They looted the bazaar and robbed the houses of officials associated with implementation of forest law. To cimpress the rebellion, the british fired the houses of the people and punished those who took part in the rebellion. But they were neverable to catch Gunda Dhur. Finally they reduced the reservation of the forest to half they had decided before.
