Jorwe culture is based on an archaeological site located in the state of Maharashtra. This is mainly referred to as the chalcolithic culture.

It ranged from several villages to large establishments out of which Daimabad was deemed to be the largest among them. The planning consisted of rectangular streets, lanes and even houses. Though the majority of the houses had a single room, the chiefs lived in huge houses having several rooms.

Pottery existed in red and orange colours along with black geometric patterns. Agriculture included millets, wheat, and barley. Trading was mainly done with ivory and gold. One unusual feature was that the dead were buried under house floors with the feet cut off.
