Sorters disease is an occupation linked disease found in people dealing or involved working with sheep wool. It is a pulmonary form of anthrax which is caused by the inhalation of spores of the Bacterium anthracis found in infected wool or hair of sheep.

It is a form of anthrax infection acquired by inhalation of dust containing Bacillus

 anthracis; initial symptoms (chill, cough, dyspnea, and rapid pulse) are

followed by extreme cardiovascular collapse.
